ENTRY #6 Final Blog
FINALLY THE LAST BLOG OF THE YEAR!! Woohoo! The question asked was did I like blogging? Well my answer is "YES" and "NO". I personally say this because I consider myself to be a bit old school and am not usually open to new things at first. I tend to not like change such as doing everything online but, I like to challenge myself from time to time. So why I said "YES" and "NO" at first I didn't because it was new, but after I found my routine and schedule I really didn't mind it at all. The things I did learn from this class is old dogs can learn new tricks! I apply this to myself, because at first when we learned we had to blog I was devastated! On the flip side when "You" (Amanda Murphy) walked us through how online to setup our blog it was not near as challenging as I thought. I learned that if I step out of my box I can learn new things even when it comes to using new technology online for my English 101 class. I believe overall blogging was a very useful tool for this class and that I would personally recommend new students to take this class because they can learn a lot from it. I liked blogging because it turned out to be fun but actually saved me a few bucks by not having to but a composition note book, it was nice that after everything paid for the class, you could blog through canvas.

KMART
Alright I just wanted to start and ask the question "who loves Kmart?". Well I will fire away and say that I do like Kmart! Now personally, I love Walmart better, but Kmart will do. Now getting to the point has anyone heard about the ruckus that is going on with a Kmart advertisement on television? It is "Ridiculous" that people are offended about this, people are so uptight these days. This is the Clip!
Okay I thought it was super funny! It is the holiday people and I think that people are so uptight and politically correct about things these days that it is crazy. Now some people responded to Kmart saying "you are a retail store not a male strip club" well I know that but do they. I thought it was quite funny. I mean personally if you had guys walking down a runway in nothing but boxers that would be more implied I think. Well I want to fire a way at the lady who responded to Kmart with the comment about it being a strip club! Ma am you are a woman and one that may own and wear Victoria Secret underwear well that's offensive because you have half naked women walking down a runway in see through underwear! See it sounds ridiculous! Now granted that women walk in provocative manner in Victoria Secret but its pretty funny that Kmart did this with "Joe Boxer" for marketing and advertising. I guess my point is people loosen up or don't subject your self to watching things like that, because you sure aren't seeing live displays like this video clip at Kmart or Victoria Secret so relax!

Entry #5 Pink Slime
Holy Pink Slime! When you get that delicious hamburger do you ever think what is in it or where it came from? Well after watching and reading about Pink Slime it opened my eyes. As a person who completely enjoys eating tasty animals and as a consumer would like to know what is in my hamburgers and where it came from!
Here is an image of Pink Slime looks delicious right? No, this looks totally unappealing. Well I want you fine folks to know out there that it takes a pretty gross process to make Pink Slime or filler for our ground beef. Pink Slime is the by product of everything left over from a cow, then the left overs get spun in a centrifuge, soaked in ammonia and water, and then put through a machine to get turned into ground beef. Sounds very appealing huh! Well here is even a bigger kicker, they are serving it to our children. The USDA ( Unites States Department of Agriculture) doesn't label or put how they process or make our meet which is concerning because they are supposed to be protecting consumers.
Well what does this all mean? Well the ground beef is safe to eat for the most part but wouldn't you still like to know what you are eating. Personally I like to know what is in my food! If the meat has to be soaked in ammonia and water to kill things like Salmonella and E. coli I would like to know. If the ground beef is not a by product or left overs from the cow then that is okay with me. It is okay with me if the food has to be treated with chemicals if that makes the food safe to eat, but large corporations should not rush this process and chance the out break of nasty bugs that can kill people if they eat this food. To wrap this up I would just prefer that I know where my food came from and what is in it, that way I have the choice to see if I want to consume this and put it in my body!
