This was overall a great tool, I enjoyed using this in the class and believe it or not learned how to blog like someone that knows what they are doing. I really overall enjoyed this as an assignment and I enjoyed this class!!

ENTRY #6 Final Blog
FINALLY THE LAST BLOG OF THE YEAR!! Woohoo! The question asked was did I like blogging? Well my answer is "YES" and "NO". I personally say this because I consider myself to be a bit old school and am not usually open to new things at first. I tend to not like change such as doing everything online but, I like to challenge myself from time to time. So why I said "YES" and "NO" at first I didn't because it was new, but after I found my routine and schedule I really didn't mind it at all. The things I did learn from this class is old dogs can learn new tricks! I apply this to myself, because at first when we learned we had to blog I was devastated! On the flip side when "You" (Amanda Murphy) walked us through how online to setup our blog it was not near as challenging as I thought. I learned that if I step out of my box I can learn new things even when it comes to using new technology online for my English 101 class. I believe overall blogging was a very useful tool for this class and that I would personally recommend new students to take this class because they can learn a lot from it. I liked blogging because it turned out to be fun but actually saved me a few bucks by not having to but a composition note book, it was nice that after everything paid for the class, you could blog through canvas.

KMART
Alright I just wanted to start and ask the question "who loves Kmart?". Well I will fire away and say that I do like Kmart! Now personally, I love Walmart better, but Kmart will do. Now getting to the point has anyone heard about the ruckus that is going on with a Kmart advertisement on television? It is "Ridiculous" that people are offended about this, people are so uptight these days. This is the Clip!
Okay I thought it was super funny! It is the holiday people and I think that people are so uptight and politically correct about things these days that it is crazy. Now some people responded to Kmart saying "you are a retail store not a male strip club" well I know that but do they. I thought it was quite funny. I mean personally if you had guys walking down a runway in nothing but boxers that would be more implied I think. Well I want to fire a way at the lady who responded to Kmart with the comment about it being a strip club! Ma am you are a woman and one that may own and wear Victoria Secret underwear well that's offensive because you have half naked women walking down a runway in see through underwear! See it sounds ridiculous! Now granted that women walk in provocative manner in Victoria Secret but its pretty funny that Kmart did this with "Joe Boxer" for marketing and advertising. I guess my point is people loosen up or don't subject your self to watching things like that, because you sure aren't seeing live displays like this video clip at Kmart or Victoria Secret so relax!

Entry #5 Pink Slime
Holy Pink Slime! When you get that delicious hamburger do you ever think what is in it or where it came from? Well after watching and reading about Pink Slime it opened my eyes. As a person who completely enjoys eating tasty animals and as a consumer would like to know what is in my hamburgers and where it came from!
Here is an image of Pink Slime looks delicious right? No, this looks totally unappealing. Well I want you fine folks to know out there that it takes a pretty gross process to make Pink Slime or filler for our ground beef. Pink Slime is the by product of everything left over from a cow, then the left overs get spun in a centrifuge, soaked in ammonia and water, and then put through a machine to get turned into ground beef. Sounds very appealing huh! Well here is even a bigger kicker, they are serving it to our children. The USDA ( Unites States Department of Agriculture) doesn't label or put how they process or make our meet which is concerning because they are supposed to be protecting consumers.
Well what does this all mean? Well the ground beef is safe to eat for the most part but wouldn't you still like to know what you are eating. Personally I like to know what is in my food! If the meat has to be soaked in ammonia and water to kill things like Salmonella and E. coli I would like to know. If the ground beef is not a by product or left overs from the cow then that is okay with me. It is okay with me if the food has to be treated with chemicals if that makes the food safe to eat, but large corporations should not rush this process and chance the out break of nasty bugs that can kill people if they eat this food. To wrap this up I would just prefer that I know where my food came from and what is in it, that way I have the choice to see if I want to consume this and put it in my body!

Boston Redsox Win The World Series!!
Heck Ya! Boston Red Sox win the World Series at home in game six against the St. Louis Cardinals! The Red Sox won the best of seven games, four games to two, for this years 2013 world series. For the third time in 10 seasons after an 86-year drought, the Boston Red Sox have won the world series at Fenway Park!
The Red Sox have had the longest drought out of any baseball club in the Major League Baseball history. This drought by some was called the "Curse of the Bambino" which some have attributed to the alleged sale of Babe Ruth from the Red Sox to the Rival team the New York Yankee's. This took place two years after the Red Sox won the world series in 1918. To date the Boston Red Sox have only won seven world series. In 2004 the Boston Red Sox broke their 86 year drought and some say that this broke the "Curse of the Bambino", then in 2007 they won the world series again.
Tonight October 30, 2013 the Red Sox win the world series once again. I feel that the Red Sox winning a third world series in ten years means that the "Curse of the Bambino" is permanently broken and no longer exists. The Red Sox have finally proven the Curse does not exists and that this ball club is here to win!

Entry #4 Food, Inc.
Hello everyone! Well the movie Food, Inc. was interesting to say at the least. After watching the movie I was kind of astonished about what really transpires with the food we eat. Seeing some of the images of how the animals are treated, farmed and slaughtered was mind blowing to me. For example, chickens farms and the conditions the birds live aren't the most sanitary. Also the chickens are being altered with growth hormones to produce a higher yield of meat, which means that there own bone structure cannot sustain the weight of there body. To me this doesn't sound very healthy for the animal or for human consumption. Personally I think over the last few decades the United States as a whole has been consuming more meat and less produce. It does not seem very safe to be eating something that has to be engineered or modified to produce a higher yield of something. That being said we as consumers need to be educated on the types of animals products we are putting in out bodies, the process utilized to create them and the effects thereof. Further more, we as consumers need to be mindful of what Corporate America is doing with our for so that we can live in a healthier society.

Halloween Prank
Well hello everyone! As you know it is October and Halloween is just around the corner! As many of us understand Halloween is a wonderfully spooky, fun and an amazing night of "Trick or Treat". Johnnie Mullins of Mustang, Oklahoma thought it would be cool to decorate his front yard with two realistic fake dead bodies for those participating in the fun of Halloween.
Well some on lookers around Johnnie Mullins residence didn't like this and even called 911. Johnnie Mullins found himself in hot water but not legally. He was never charged with anything when the police were called to his residence, because he did nothing wrong. Some people thought that these two fake bodies where to much and they wonder what will children would think or how they would react.
Here are some of my thoughts: people get over it its Halloween and its about getting scared, having fun, and getting candy. If you as an adult think its to much for you then if you have a young child either you let them go and don't care or you can go with them and explain to them what it is. The world isn't always a safe place but we as parents can protect or children but don't ruin it for others. This man Johnnie Mullins did nothing wrong, broke no laws and hurt nobody, people get over your sensitive sorry A** and be American. Express your rights but unless they are life threatening to you or our way of living, doesn't always mean you have to get your panties in a bunch and say something political about it.
Anyways I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe night of "Trick or Treat" and beware of those goblins, ghosts, and ghouls.

ENTRY #3 WALL-E
Welcome to WALL-Es world! First off I wanted to say that this is a great movie for being under 200 words spoken in this entire film. Now back to the subject at hand. What do we think when we watch this short movie clip? Well my first thought that it was absolutely hysterical and yet in some ways very true. These humans are living on a space ship waiting for the correct time to go back to earth and once again resume living on the planet earth. This short clip shows how every human is floating around on chairs with virtual screens, talking on the phone and even using there chair to change the color of clothes for them. Now here is the kicker they are all fat. In this short clip it shows how everything is at the tip of these overweight humans finger tips with the push of a button. At one point in this clip it shows "John" an overweight human and he falls out of his chair and cant get back in it. These humans are so dependent on technology that "John" cant even get himself back in his chair with out the help of technology. In some ways I Can personally relate being a fire fighter and receiving a call that is referred to as a "Lift Assist", which is when someone who is generally a bit larger has fallen down and just cant get back up on their feet. I feel some times we are to dependent on technology. Another example, when WALL-E is trying to get past the fat lady to be next to EVA and in doing so breaks the ladies virtual television. Immediately the ladies facial expression changes when her eyes seemed to be open and see what she was missing out on. Its like the lady was blown away on what she had been truly missing out on with all the interference of technology that is right in front of us. Don't get me wrong I love to use technology in the right time and place, I feel that we use it way to much in our daily lives. I say this because I seem more and more little pudgy children in the United States not to mention that we are officially the most obese nation in the world. Now that may seem harsh but I see more and more kids playing on IPhones, game consoles, watching television, using laptops and less children outside playing. I feel that we are a very lazy nation, all about instant gratification and don't like to get dirty anymore when that's what this country was founded on. Well I hope every enjoyed this and just to re-iterate technology is great I just think there is a time and place for it and used way to much.

Riding Trikes, Bikes and Motorbikes!
Howdy all! I want to start off and ask the question who loves riding? I think it is safe to say that growing up from the ages of being a toddler, young child, teenager, and adult that we like to ride on some form of a trike, scooter, bicycle, dirt bike, and maybe even a motorcycle.
When we are growing up as a toddler we are given safe toys that might resemble this.
When we are growing up as a toddler we are given safe toys that might resemble this.
A trike right! I remember my trike and I was in love! Where ever I could I was pedaling around whether it was in the house, outside, or where the next biggest hill was. I was hooked. Then we start to get a bit bigger and now we have a bicycle with or without training wheels.
As we continue to grow now we get bigger and the bikes get bigger as well. We start to use them to go places to such as; riding to school, going to work and we still continue to ride these wheeled contraptions because they are fun.
Riding to school.
Riding for fun.
Well this all leads me to the fact the we as humans love to ride these fun, yet at times dangerous things that we call trikes, bikes, and motorcycles. We do it because its fun and the enjoyment we get from it. Well as some of you have noticed I was in a Dirt bike accident and had an open compound Tibia/Fibula fracture. What that means is that both of my bones in my lower leg know as your shin bones, both had broken and pushed through my skin. It hurt pretty bad.
All of this leads me up to this! Motorcyclist run over by SUV in Massachusetts!
After seeing this man get run over I was outraged from the simply fact that five weeks ago I was hit by a truck myself. Now here is the kicker guys this gentleman in the video that is run over by the SUV has a bad rap sheet when it comes to driving. Does this matter?!
Well here is what I think! Recently when I was in my own accident and hit bike a truck on my dirt bike which was not licensed, registered, or street legal this is what I learned when retaining an attorney. Whether my bike was legal, registered, or licensed that truck that hit me, well it would have still hit me regardless if I was legal or nor legal. The truck would have still hit me!
Now my point here is, a guy that is run over on his motorcycle by a SUV and the crime is caught on tape what does that have to do with "if he is legal or not legal to drive" he was hit by a vehicle. Furthermore the man cannot walk now, and is paralyzed. I guess what I am trying to get at is, yes it is wrong to drive on the road if you are not legal to do so, but if you are still legal and you get hit, at that point and time paper work had no determination that you were going to get hit!
So in conclusion, Paper work could not have prevented me from getting hit on my Dirt bike by a truck! Correct licensing for the man ran over by an SUV in Massachusetts could not have prevented him from getting run over. I feel like this is an out rage when those who enjoy trikes, bikes, and motorcycles are getting treated wrong. We are just trying to enjoy trikes, bikes, and motorcycles that where introduced to us a such a young age.

ENTRY #2 MYO MY!
Bro is that a Sweatband?
No its a MYO!
This is the future of technology!
What is this you ask? Well this what they call a MYO!
I found this when I was conducting my search for things that were on the leading edge of technology. When I started out thinking about the leading things in technology the first thing that came to my mind was cell phones! I thought to myself we are bombarded daily by advertisements about the latest and greatest new cell phone and what it can do, so I thought I can challenge myself more than that and find something more cutting edge.
I began thinking about this very concept and realized that it has been around for a bit but we haven't really known that. Think about it, how we have made some of the greatest movies such as Avatar! These movies used computer graphics that came from expensive sensors that would replicate how a person would move. From there they are turned into the computer animated character. I feel that it was only a matter of time before a group of individuals would figure out a way to understand how we move and then incorporate it with out digital based lives.
In today's day and age we get so busy with things we are doing in our lives. Have you ever felt like you need an extra had? Well I know I have whether it was to pause a movie in the middle of doing homework, recording a TV show, taking a photo with out using your phone, well I believe that there is a solve to that and here is what it looks like!
This little black band that you see is incredible! The MYO uses the muscles in your arm and the electrical activity it produces to wirelessly control your phone, computer, video games, and some of your favorite digital technologies.
I feel that the MYO is really just scratching the surface and unlocking a whole new world. Imagine being able to do more things or control more things with just a few movements of your arm. For example, I like to play video games but don't play them that often and when I do I get hand cramps from holding the remote controller. Well now using MYO you wouldn't have to use a remote controller, you can play wirelessly and would not have to worry about those annoying hand cramps anymore. More over MYO could be utilized as a great training tool for even first responders such as fire fighters, police officers and possibly utilized in the military.
Knowing that I am working on being a structural fire fighter and having discovered the difficulties of the job, imagine being able to visualize where your crew was on a small display unit inside your mask. Inside your mask moving your arm a certain way that the MYO understands you will now be able to see where crew members are and how they are doing. You are able to do this as well as completing an important task yourself, but with the quick movement of your arm or wrist. I believe that this could help save lives and be utilized as an important piece of gear for the fire department.
The MYO I feel is on the leading edge of technology. Whether it be for personal use or for business. I believe that in the next few years you will see a huge advancement in integrating our lives with the digital world. We have never had a bridge between our lives and the digital world like this before, this will help shape the world we live in!
Hope you all enjoyed this and I cant wait till the MYO is out it will be out late 2013 or the first part of 2014!

Chemical Weapons In Syria

The United States has figured out that Syria used chemical weapons against their own people.
It's still unclear whom it was within Syria that used the chemical weapons we speak of, however the popular belief based on classified evidence and information suggests it was President Bashar al-Assad or Syrian Rebels. Over 100,000 thousand lives have been lost in the Syrian conflict via bombings, hand held firearms and other militaristic artilleries or munitions of that nature. However only 1,400 lives have been lost due to the use of chemical weapons. Why is it now that the United States wants to intervene? If I could ask our commander and chief a question this is what it would be. Mr. President, why now do you choose to intervene? If so, please tell us how. More over Mr. President the Syrian Rebels you are choosing to arm and publicly support are directly affiliated with the Taliban and Al-Qaeda regimes we have just spent the previous 10 years fighting. Speaking from the point of view of being a Veteran and surviving three combat tours I do not want to see the United States in another armed conflict especially one that we gain nothing from.

ENTRY #1 THE BIG BLOGG
Blogging have you heard of it? Blogging to some may be very different or maybe even unheard of. To me blogging is very foreign and I don't fully comprehend the purpose of it. Is there anyone else out there that feels the same way?

I was reading "The insane things people still try to bring on airplanes" which was on the America blog and there was a link to the TSA blog. I like this style because its very professional and it is to the point. This blog is very informational as to what you can bring on airplanes. At the same time this blog just throws you into the mix of things which I am not a fan of. Here is a link to the blog http://americablog.com/2013/07/tsa-mines-grenades-claymores.html
The second blog I read was on Google Operating Systems. This was pretty neat because it was talking about pictures and how Android phones can take pictures using a seamless 360 degree photo. I thought this was more personable to my style or what I like. It lets Android phone users know that you can upload street view straight to Google and then other people can view the photos and use them for directions. By reading this and learning that you can do these things with your Android phone and I, myself being an Iphone user, made me a bit envious of those using Android phones.

I believe when I get more understanding about using blogs that I will enjoy them a lot more. Currently, I feel as if its like walking into the middle of a conversation and you don't know what's going on, or opening some ones personal diary and just starting to read it.
