Entry #4 Food, Inc.

Hello everyone! Well the movie Food, Inc. was interesting to say at the least. After watching the movie I was kind of astonished about what really transpires with the food we eat. Seeing some of the images of how the animals are treated, farmed and slaughtered was mind blowing to me. For example, chickens farms and the conditions the birds live aren't the most sanitary. Also the chickens are being altered with growth hormones to produce a higher yield of meat, which means that there own bone structure cannot sustain the weight of there body. To me this doesn't sound very healthy for the animal or for human consumption. Personally I think over the last few decades the United States as a whole has been consuming more meat and less produce. It does not seem very safe to be eating something that has to be engineered or modified to produce a higher yield of something. That being said we as consumers need to be educated on the types of animals products we are putting in out bodies, the process utilized to create them and the effects thereof. Further more, we as consumers need to be mindful of what Corporate America is doing with our for so that we can live in a healthier society.
